Welcome Eagle Scout Candidates

Looking for a wonderful Eagle Scout opportunity with lasting community impact?

Please consider adopting a project to benefit Grow For Your Neighbor
of the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank.

Projects are available at three locations:

1. Salem Church Library
2607 Salem Church Road
Fredericksburg, VA 22407

Grow For Your Neighbor gardens at the Salem Church Library are a community effort whereby
organic produce is grown and donated throughout the year to the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank.
The Library has donated over 800 pounds of produce just this last year,
and is excited at the prospect of increasing their bounty through additional gardens and irrigation.
The library gardens not only provide fresh food for those in need, but also opportunities for service and education
to those living in surrounding communities and to teens participating in the library's after school program.
These gardens are utilized to teach square foot gardening and serve as a food source and habitat for butterflies
and other beneficial pollinators as well as to hosting community gatherings including Art In the garden and Garden Tea.

Gardens also include butterfly larval food plants and are utilized to teach Lepidoptera conservation and life cycle.
Students have planted, tended and harvested gardens, making this a wonderful educational and service location.
